ABOUT REGGIE
Reggie is an award-winning innovator and disrupter most recognized as the former President and Chief Operating Officer of Nintendo of America, the largest division of the Japanese entertainment company Nintendo Co., Ltd. In this capacity, he helped bring the Nintendo DS, the Wii, the Nintendo 3DS, the Wii U and the Nintendo Switch to the global marketplace.
Reggie joined Nintendo of America Inc. in December 2003 as Executive Vice President of Sales & Marketing. In May 2006, he was promoted to President and Chief Operating Officer. He ran the day-to-day operations of Nintendo of America and was responsible for all activities for Nintendo in the United States, Canada and Latin America. In 2016, Reggie was appointed to the global Executive Officer committee for Nintendo Co., Ltd. He retired in April 2019 and in October 2019 was inducted into the International Video Game Hall of Fame.
Reggie graduated from Cornell’s Dyson School and launched a 35+ year career spanning the consumer-packaged goods, restaurant, beverage, and media/entertainment industries.
Since retiring, Reggie has focused his energy cultivating the next generation of business leaders. In August 2019 he was named the inaugural Dyson Leader in Residence for the 2019-2020 academic year. He is currently sharing his personal learning and principles through public speaking, board service and DISRUPTING THE GAME published by HarperCollins Leadership. Lastly, Reggie founded Brentwood Growth Partners to help emerging companies scale and enable leaders to create world-class cultures.
A LIFETIME OF GAMING
Even after retiring from Nintendo, Reggie continues to be active in the gaming industry. In 2019, he received the Walter Day Lifetime Achievement Award from the International Videogame Hall of Fame. In 2020, Reggie received the Andrew Yoon Legend Award from The New York Videogame Critics Circle. He is a special advisor to Rogue Games Inc., an innovative gaming publisher and developer. Reggie is also the Chairman of UTA Acquisition Corp., a special purpose acquisition company in the broad digital entertainment/gaming space and its adjacent markets.
A PASSION FOR EDUCATION
Reggie knows that education is key to an individual’s journey. After graduating with distinction from Cornell University’s Dyson Undergraduate School in 1983, Reggie has continued to support Cornell. In August 2019 he was named the inaugural Dyson Leader in Residence for the 2019-2020 academic year. In 2020 Reggie was named one of Cornell University’s College of Agriculture and Life Sciences (CALS) Outstanding Alumni. In 2021 he was appointed to the Cornell University Council and the CALS Dean’s Advisory Council. In Washington State where he currently resides, Reggie is on the Board of The Partnership for Learning which focuses on postsecondary success, college/career readiness and early learning for all state students. Reggie also serves on the Board of the New York Videogame Critics Circle which uses video games as the medium for teaching creative writing and critical thinking skills to under-represented youth.

In 2020 Reggie joined longtime gaming journalist and current president of the nonprofit New York Videogame Critics Circle Harold Goldberg to host a six-part podcast series on gaming and technology. On “Talking Games with Reggie and Harold,” they interviewed influential people across gaming, esports and entertainment content creation. Its main goal was to raise money for the nonprofit and expand efforts to help underserved communities in New York City.

In addition, Reggie is a Board Director for three publicly traded companies. He is the Board Chairman for UTA Acquisition Corp. (UTAAU.NASDAQ), a special purpose acquisition company in the broad digital entertainment/gaming space and its adjacent markets. He is also a Non-Executive Director for Spin Master Inc. (TOY.TO), Brunswick Corp. (BC.NYSE) and a special advisor to Rogue Games Inc., an innovative gaming publisher and developer.
